Peg Walker, Director, Planning and Research - AOC stated in the Access - Visitation Committee meeting on February 26, 1999 that approximately $90,000.00 were available in the grant funds. Walker's response came during the discussion concerning The Birmingham Chapter of the National Congress for Fathers and Children's request for grant funds.
Walker's comments seemed to minimize or disqualify NCFC's grant request.
Alabama should receive $176,664.00 in September 1999 for a three (3) year total of $529,992.00. Are the grants funds being used for their intended purpose?
