RE: Hearing on House Bill 97
On April 7, 1999 at 9:00 am. the Alabama House of Representatives' Standing Committee for the Judiciary will conduct a hearing regarding House Bill 97 which, as proposed, will permit children who attain 12 years of age to determine which parent they choose to reside with. A copy of the proposed legislation is enclosed for your review. I have also enclosed a listing of the members of the House of Representatives' Standing Committee for the Judiciary in the event you wish to contact any of them regarding this pending legislation.
I look forward to seeing you at the access and visitation committee meeting, which is scheduled for April 16, 1999 at 10:00a.m., at the Administrative Office of Courts. If you have any items which you want to add to the meeting agenda please call me as soon as possible.
