The Alabama attorney general is investigating what state Sen. Roger Bedford and others might know about the misuse of $7.3 million in government bonds for a mobile-home business that later went bankrupt.

Bedford, a Russellville Democrat, is the subject of another state investigation on an unrelated matter. The Alabama Ethics Commission is reviewing his efforts to have the Marion County Commission buy 600 acres from his friend for $3 million - three times the property's appraised value.
